Former Youngstown businessman pleads guilty in corruption case

Chelsea…A potentially big piece of the puzzle that is a local public corruption case fell into place this morning with a guilty plea in a local court… Former engineering consultant Ray Briya admitted to counts of attemtped bribery..record tampering..theft and obstruction in court… Special prosecutors claim he was part of a scheme to bribe former Youngstown Mayor Chuck Sammarone and former Finance Director Dave Bozanich..as well as providing false documents to developer Dominic Marchionda… As part of his plea..Briya will have to testify if the other defendants go to trial at different points next year… Coming up later on First News..we’ll take a closer look at the charges against Briya…but for now..in Youngstown..Gerry Ricciutti..WKBN 27 First News….Chelsea….
