Meaning of BACK IN THE SWING OF THINGS and BUSINESS AS USUAL- A Short English Lesson with Subtitles

– So I was really happy this morning that I was able to do a
live English lesson again after being sick for a bit. It’s really good to be back
in the swing of things. In English, when you say that you are back in the swing of things, it means that you are again doing what you were doing before, the same routine, the same rhythm. It’s when you start doing something again that you had to take a small break from for some reason or another. So, on my YouTube channels, I am definitely back
in the swing of things. We hear this sometimes, too, when someone is injured playing a sport. Maybe you’re favorite football
player has been injured and has not been able to play for a while, and then when they come back to play, it takes them a game or two, but eventually they are
back in the swing of things. That means they are back
to their normal form, they are back to playing
at the top of their game, they are back in the swing of things. They are doing things again
the way they were doing it before they left for a break. So I’m happy to be back
in the swing of things. There’s another English phrase that’s very, very similar to this, and that’s business as usual. So on the Bob the
Canadian YouTube channel, it is now business as usual again. In English, when we say that
it is business as usual, it’s again a saying
that refers to the fact that everything is back to normal. I’m back to my normal routine. It is business as usual. There will be a live lesson
tomorrow on Saturday morning. There will be a new video next Tuesday, and I will be doing live
lessons again on Friday morning. So on Bob the Canadian’s YouTube channel, it is now business as usual, because I am back in the swing of things. Anyways, it was really
fun to see some of you in the chat this morning. Thanks for coming out, and I
hope that your English learning is going really, really well, and I hope you have a great weekend.
